What It's About: The tale of two people who must overcome cultural and socioeconomic differences to be together. This movie outlines what it's like to have familial disapproval on relationships and being faced with the difficult choice to work through it and (hopefully) overcome all of the obstacles, or to give up on dreams of being together because of too many hurdles just to be happy.
Why You Should Watch It: This movie covers a lot of the highs and lows that come together in a relationship, along with the emotions that come with being surrounded by people who are starting their married lives together. You can see the difference between a surface level and happy-looking marriage, versus what it takes to have a marriage that truly lasts. All of the excitement and activities leading up to the wedding in Singapore are also major wedding planning inspiration! There are some really fun wedding and party scenes in the movie.

Bridesmaids
What It's About: The Bride's girl squad of her besties from different periods in her life all come together to try and make her wedding and the events leading up to it special. This movie shows what happens when people get together who don't necessarily get along and they all have to join and put their biases aside to make the wedding about the Bride again.
Why You Should Watch It: This movie is hilarious! It also illustrates the importance of choosing your bridesmaids very carefully, and making sure they will all get along nicely. Sometimes when we have friends from different periods in our life they are a reflection of all of our "past selves" and they don't always align. No one is the same person that they were when they were in high school. This movie is a metaphor for all of your "past selves" coming together to create a beautiful moment in your life. After watching this comedy, you'll be inspired (if you haven't been already) to find your ride-or-die girls for your special day, and to make sure they all get along. Why You Should Watch It: There are a few scenes in this movie that perfectly illustrate just how fun weddings can be! It's hard not to get hyped up for wedding planning while watching the two main characters get pumped just to be a part of these events. There just might also be a cute love story in there...

What It's About: In my opinion, this is the greatest love-tragedy. A mysterious legend, Jay Gatsby vies for the affection of his long, lost love from before he was deployed in WWI as a young soldier. He comes back after the war only to learn that the woman of his dreams has married a wealthy man in a lavish ceremony. Gatsby spends the rest of his life building up his persona and throwing outrageous parties as an attempt to win her back.
Why You Should Watch It: Besides serving as major fun reception inspiration, there is also an underlying story in here that makes you really think about the importance of marrying Mr. Right versus Mr. Right Now.

Watching this movie will stress you out so much that you will be sure to steer clear of any of the mistakes these families make.
Why You Should Watch It: This movie illustrates the importance of fostering great relationships on both sides of the wedding. Remember not only are you and your fiance getting married, but your families are as well. Also shows the importance of spending extra money to reap better quality, and to have contingency planning (and hire a planner!). Weddings are too big of a tasks to take on yourself.
